Personalised Stationery

Personalised Stationery/Gifts

I always love it when I see my name on a gift or an item. Random fact - the capital of Bulgaria is my name but spelt differently (Sofia).

I am one of those of lucky ones whose name appears on a lot of personalised gifts and items and because of that I feel I should buy them too! One of the benefits of having a reasonably common-ish name. Although I was the only Sophia in my classes in high school and wherever I have worked, so not that common.

On Instagram there are so many companies offering amazing personalised items i.e. scramble boards, personalised birthday cards and stationery! The trend has really increased in the last few years.

Purchases/Gifts

I purchased some personalised items last year from Asda (they were for school children as they had a personalised lunch bag too). I haven’t used them yet as I love the fact my name is all over them.

(Yes I am a hoarder and I love my name, what this says about me I don’t know. Perhaps I will analyse this in my next blog....or not!!)

My 5 year old niece went on a trip to the zoo and bought me lovely ruler with my name on it!! Yah! I absolutely love it.

I was recently gifted this lovely pencil which has ‘Stationery Aunt’ engraved. I absolutely love it and just need to use it. Ok who am I kidding, it’s not going to be used - it will just be admired. Hey some people have shoes, I have pencils.

My sister also bought pencils with my nieces names engraved, they haven’t been given them yet! I definitely look forward to their reaction as their names are not common and you will not find any personalised items in shops.

My Name in Lights

My very close friend purchased ‘my name is lights’, which I have not unboxed yet as was wanting to do this article first. I absolutely love it and it defiantly makes me feel ‘famous’ to have my name in lights!

Why personalisation?

I always feel when an item is gifted and it has been personalised I always feel a lot more effort has gone into it plus you can’t go and return it! I am one of those that like gifts that are not practical! I was once gifted a really cool notebook (which I believe is at work somewhere safe) which was personalised ‘Keep Calm Sophia and write Notes’. It took me a long time to start using that notebook which is the norm for those that love stationery! I also created a personalised notebook myself.

Stationery aunt personalising - Baby Shower

Because I love personalisation so much I am always trying to find ways to share that and my closest friend is having a baby in October and myself and two other friends will be organising her baby shower. And I decided the first step was to find a suitable planning book and to make it special, I personalised it. She loved it and has asked if she can have it after the planning is complete!

Instagram/Twitter

I will be adding a picture every day of my collection of personalised items that I have either been given or purchased.

Adding that personalised touch puts a lovely smile on people’s faces especially when it is on stationery-what more could a Stationery Aunt want J

Thank you for reading my article and please let me know if you also buy stationary and just can’t use it - because it’s just soooo pretty!
